2026 Primary SQBD All Schools Championships Gives Students Their First Taste of Competitive Footy

Nearly 70 teams from across the South Queensland region descended on Beenleigh on Tuesday 28 July for the region's Primary All Schools Championships, giving young students a chance to represent their school and play outside their own school grounds for the first time.

South Queensland Sharks Regional Manager, Conan Kang, said the Primary Championships play a different but equally important role to their secondary counterpart.

"At primary level, it's much less about the results and more about giving kids a fun, low-pressure introduction to competing in sport and a chance to learn about touch football."

"It's the kind of experience that lays the groundwork for their sporting journey, giving them a taste of the buzz and carnival atmosphere that events like the Primary All Schools bring."

Between games, students cheered on their peers from other teams, and soak up the experience of being part of something bigger than their usual PE lesson.
