NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS (NYC)
The Touch Football Australia National Youth Championships will be held in Kawana on the Sunshine Coast from Wednesday 28th September to Saturday 1st October 2022.
South Queensland Sharks will be sending Junior Representative teams in the following divisions:

Competitive: 12 Girls, 12 Boys, 14 Girls, 14 Boys, 16 Girls, 16 Boys, 18 Girls & 18 Boys.

Development: 12 Girls, 12 Boys, 14 Girls, 14 Boys.
To be eligible to trial for South Queensland Sharks players must be financial members of SQBD and must be a registered player of a SQBD Affiliate during Season 2, 2021 and/or Season 1, 2022.
The Titans Cup being held at Palm Beach Touch on Sunday 5th June 2022 will be the mandatory South Queensland Sharks Junior selection event. Coaches will be required to select and submit final squads to SQBD for ratification on Tuesday 7th June 2022. All other Junior events in the 2022 calendar prior to the Titans Cup will be considered as Talent Identification opportunities for the 2022 SQ Sharks Coaching Staff.
All players must compete in the 2022 Titans Cup or have completed the SQBD Dispensation Form outlining the extenuating circumstances that are preventing the player from competing e.g. medical or family emergency.
The final trial will be held on Sunday 17th July 2022 at Palm Beach Touch. Trial information regarding times and divisions is below:
8am-11am: 12 Boys and 12 Girls
10am-1pm: 14 Boys and 14 Girls
12pm-3pm: 16 Boys and 16 Girls
2pm-5pm: 18 Boys and 18 Girls

For referees, all information has been sent to Affiliate Directors/Managers for sharing with referees. However, a summary is below.
The cost is $100 per referee, heavily subsidised, and includes the following:

2022 SQ Sharks Off-field Shirt (if not already received one at NTL)

Accommodation (27 September - 1 October)

Dinner on Thursday night

Entry into the Event as a Referee (which includes referee coaching and lunch at the fields)

Attendance at NYC Selection Day - Sunday 17 July @ Palm Beach (8am-2pm)

Attendance at NYC Compulsory Game Day – Sunday 28 August @ Redlands (9am-1pm)

Attendance at NYC Compulsory Training Day – Sunday 11 September @ Palm Beach (8am-12pm)
To be considered for selection, the individual must email Lee Rossow by 5pm Sunday 24 April, identifying their acceptance of the package outlined above, agreeing to referee at the event and to attending at least 2 of the 3 days identified above (#5, #6, #7). They will also need to identify their referee activity over the past 2-years. A referee training squad will be announced mid-May with the touring squad announced mid-July.
