The South Queensland Sharks have a rich representative history as one of Australia's strongest regions claiming a record 13 Golden Boot titles as the champion region of Australia. The Sharks primarily compete at annual competitions such as National Touch League and National Youth Championships. Players must be registered and playing in a local affiliate competition to be eligible to represent the South Queensland Sharks.
The South Queensland Sharks are proud to have a strong relationship with the Gold Coast Titans NRL club. The sport of touch football originated from rugby league and the links between the two sports remain evident to this day. Gold Coast Titans support the Junior Tri-Series and other events and programs such as junior touch games held at half-time during NRL home matches.
